An Excuse To Drink – Happy 378th Birthday to the State of Maryland!

We live in the great state of Maryland. The Old Line State. America in Miniature. Whatever name you give it, this state has a great deal of history.

In 1634, Lord Baltimore sent the first settlers into this area. Maryland often does not get the press that Virginia or Massachusetts does for its history. Maybe because the Calvert Family had a a stranglehold on this place for as long as it did. Maybe because it is relatively small.

Either way let’s drink to our home state:

Bloody Maryland

1 oz. Apple Juice
2 oz. Peach Schnapps
2 oz. Voli Lyte Vodka
1 oz. Raspberries

Mix, Strain into a highball glass.

Baltimore Blossom

1.5 oz Voli Lyte Vodka
1.5 oz cranberry juice
1 dash Angostura Bitters
Shake and strain over ice. Garnish with basil flower.

Lemon Lord

2 oz Lord Calvert Canadian whisky
1/2 lemon
1 can citrus soda

Pour the whisky into a tall 16-oz glass with a few ice cubes. Squeeze the juice from half a lemon with pulp into the glass. Fill with citrus soda.
