The 18 block monument to greatness in entertainment that stretches along Hollywood Boulevard and part of Vine Street in Los Angeles, CA, had its official ground-breaking today in 1960. There is a long-standing myth that Joanne Woodward received the first “star”, but in reality all of the first recipients were placed at the same time, but she was one of the randomly chosen eight “test stars” to be displayed (along with Olive Borden, Ronald Colman, Louise Fazenda, Preston Foster, Burt Lancaster, Edward Sedgwick, and Ernest Torrence), while construction was held up for legal reasons .
Starlet Cocktail
recipe by Absinthe Mata Hari
- 1 oz. Absinthe Mata Hari
- 1 oz. Orange flavored vodka
- 1 oz. Hiram Walker Black Raspberry Liqueur
- 1 oz. champagne
Glass: Cocktail
Garnish: Raspberry
Combine absinthe, vodka, and black raspberry liqueur in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake thoroughly and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Top with champagne. Garnish with a raspberry.
