Happy Irish Coffee Day everyone! Yes, I know we’ve covered this old classic quite a bit here at “A History of Drinking” (see below for related posts), but old classics die hard. For the original recipe, check out our post here, but for a change of pace, we’ve included a few alternative alcoholic coffee recipes, courtesy of our friend Stephanie over at Cocktail Culture and Drinks for the House.
Keoke Coffee:
- 1/2 part Kahlua
- 1/2 partĀ Hiram Walker Creme de Cacao
- 1/2 part brandy
- 4 parts hot coffee
Glass: Irish Coffee glass
Garnish: Whipped cream
Build in glass, garnish with whipped cream on top.
Butternipple Coffee
name via Martini’s Continental Cuisine & Piano Bar in Myrtle Beach, SC. Also served under the moniker “Davenport’s Coffee” at Davenport’s Restaurants in R.I.
- 1 1/2 oz Bailey’s Irish Cream
- 1 1/2 oz Hiram Walker Butterscotch Schnapps
- 4 oz hot coffee
Glass: Irish Coffeee
Garnish: Whipped Cream on top
Build in glass, garnish with whipped cream on top.
