The much anticipated movie The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has wowed us all with Stieg Larsson’s thrilling Swedish mystery, so here are several cocktails, inspired by this electrifying flick.
Murder, mystery, and a tiny amount of romance will have you wrapped around Larsson’s finger before you even realize it! Suddenly you’re engulfed in the world of Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist as they venture into a 40 year old history to try and solve a missing person’s case. If you just can’t wait for the rest of the American films to come to fruition, then put the original Swedish versions in your movie queue, grab some of these enticing drinks and enjoy!
Hacking Salander 
- Lucid Absinthe
- 2 oz Rye
- 3 dashes Peychaud’s Bitters
- 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
- 1 sugar cube
- 1 Lemon peel
Fill a rocks glass with ice and set aside. Add a sugar cube and the bitters to a mixing glass and crush the cube with a muddler. Add the rye and ice and stir to chill and dissolve the sugar. Dump the ice out of the rocks glass and rinse with Lucid Absinthe, discard excess. Pour the contents of the mixing glass into the Lucid Absinthe rinsed rocks glass. Twist a lemon peel over the surface of the drink and rub around the rim.
Trusting Blomkvist 
- 1.25 oz Frangelico
- 1.25 oz Flor de Caña 7 year Grand Reserve Rum
- 1.25 oz Sweet Vermouth
Shake with ice and pour into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime.
Swedish Mystery 
- 1.25 oz Russian Standard Vodka
- 1.25 oz Pomegranate liqueur
- .5 oz orange juice
- .5 oz lime juice
Combine all ingredients and shake with ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a blackberry.
Smoking Dragon Shot 
- .5 oz Lucid Absinthe
- .5 oz Melon liqueur
- .5 oz lemon-lime soda
- 1.5 oz pineapple juice
- Drizzle of grenadine
Combine Lucid, Melon liqueur, lemon-lime soda and pineapple with ice and shake. Strain into a chilled shot glass and drizzle grenadine into the mix.
