Thirsty Thursday – Bombora Vodka Review

Disclosure:

I was recently sent a 750ml sample bottle of Bombora Premium vodka from the folks at their parent company, G’Day Imports.

Overview:

Summer’s here and it’s “surf’s up” with Bombora Vodka! Bombora, and it’s Super Premium stable-mate Cooranbong (more on that one in a later post) are produced by G’Day, which is headed up by David Freyder and a group of other key investors. Bombora, which means Reef in the Aboriginal language and “massive wave” in Aussie surfer lingo, is distilled five times from premium grapes grown in the Barossa Valley and is currently the number one vodka exported from Australia. This vodka does not contain grain like a lot of other vodkas and therefore is safe for people on gluten-free diets.

Visuals:

Clear, medium viscosity (and that’s after I put it in the freezer for about two hours)

Nose:

Clean, very little alcohol burn

Tasting Notes:

This vodka definitely let’s you know its there. If you’re looking for neutral, go somewhere else, because this one has some character. Warm, slightly herbaceous, grassy, vegetable notes. Nice rustic, almost “funky” finish.
