Notorious London serial-killer Jack the Ripper begins his reign of terror with the murder of Mary Ann Nichols in Whitehall. Canonically speaking, “Jack” would go on to kill another four victims, ending with the November 9, 1888 slaying of Mary Kelly.
Jack the Ripper Cocktail
- 2 1/2 oz Crown Royal Canadian Whisky
- 3/4 oz Butterscotch Schnapps
Glass: Brandy Snifter
Garnish: None
Shake with ice and strain into brandy snifter.
UPDATE: Ryan over at Boozeblogger.com suggests adding a few drops of grenadine over the top or a small pool at the bottom and float the combination of whisky and schnapps on top. He was even kind enough to send us a picture of his creation. Definitely adds a gruesome flair to the drink!!
Jack the Ripper Shot
recipe adapted from http://www.barnonedrinks.com
- 3 oz. Cranberry Juice
- 1 oz. Jack Daniel’s Whiskey
- 1/2 oz. Amaretto
Glass: Shot Glasses
Garnish: None
Shake with iceĀ and strain into chilled shot glasses.

When I make the cocktail version I like to put a few drops or grenadine over the top or a small pool at the bottom and float the combination of whisky and schnapps on top. Maybe I can get you a picture.
Hi Ryan,
That would be awesome if you could get a picture! I’ll append the article with it. Definitely makes the drink more interesting!!
