On this date in 1897, Irish author Bram Stoker presented Dracula to a small audience at the Lyceum Theatre. A week later, his novel featuring the vampire antagonist Count Dracula, was first published as a hardcover by Archibald Constable and Co.
Apparently, Stoker wanted to secure the dramatic rights to his characters and hastily assembled a script from cut up sections from two of his pre-publication copies of the novel. He added stage direction and transitional items where needed. By most accounts, the performance was “perfectly awful” and garnered only two paying customers.

- 2 oz light rum
- 1 oz Crème de frambois liqueur (ie: Chambord)
- 2 oz cranberry juice
- ½ oz Freshly squeezed lime juice
