Yes, it’s time to celebrate those amazing “pets” that appear to magically come alive when placed in water. Children and adults are fascinated by these creatures, that almost instantly are born when place in water. Sold for years in the pages of comic books, Sea Monkeys are really a unique species of brine shrimp, Artemia NYOS, that have been “altered slightly” (gee when does that ever turn out well in a horror or sci-fi movie), to survive in the household environment.
So go out an get yourself some and enjoy one of these drinks…but please don’t put them in your drink…or your friend’s drink either.
Sea Monkey Martini
recipe adapted from RA Sushi Bar & Grill, Miami, FL
- 1 1/2 oz Pineapple Juice
- 1 1/2 oz Skyy Infusions Raspberry Vodka
- 1/2 oz Black Raspberry Liqueur
- 1 oz Cranberry Juice
Garnish: Orange Wheel
Pour pineapple juice into a chilled cocktail glass. Add the remaining ingredients to a shaker and shake with ice. Strain slowly over the pineapple juice and try to keep the two layers separated. Float an orange wheel for garnish.

- 1/2 oz Blue Curacao
Layer ingredients in order. Be sure that the Goldschlager has been completely chilled.
